Canisius holds off Siena 82-79 for 6th straight victory
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Kassius Robertson scored 21 points, Jermaine Crumpton added 16 and Canisius held off Siena 82-79 on Monday for its sixth straight victory.
It's Canisius' longest winning streak since the 1998-99 season.
Crumpton went 1 of 2 from the line with 1:33 left for a seven-point lead, but the Golden Griffins didn't score again. Siena cut it to 82-79 after a 3-pointer by Marquis Wright with 36.9 seconds left. Malik Johnson missed two free throws with 24.2 seconds remaining to open the door, but Evan Fisher and Nico Clareth both missed 3s in the closing seconds.
Spencer Foley added 15 points for Canisius (9-5, 2-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).
The Golden Griffins, who hadn't played a game in 11 days, shot 58.6 percent in the first half and led 46-39.
Javion Ogunyemi had 19 points and eight rebounds for Siena (4-10, 1-2). Brett Bisping added 17 points and nine boards, and Wright scored 15 points with seven assists.
