Thompson has 5th straight double-double to lead E. Michigan
YPSILANTI, Mich. -- John Thompson IV had 21 points and 11 rebounds for his fifth-straight double-double to lead Eastern Michigan to a 94-77 win over Omaha on Saturday.
Thompson made 6 of 9 field goals and had seven offensive rebounds. He was also 9 of 10 from the free throw line. Ray Lee hit 4 of 5 from distance to total 20 points and dished out six assists. Willie Mangum IV added 18 points and had five steals and Ty Toney chipped in 11 points for the Eagles.
Eastern Michigan (4-3), which has won four of its last five games, made 6 of 13 from beyond the arc while hitting 56 percent from the floor.
The Eagles were ahead 39-36 at the break, stretched that to 70-53 midway of the second half, and coasted to the victory.
Tre'Shawn Thurman had 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Omaha (2-4).
