MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- JaCorey Williams had 18 points on 9-of-13 shooting and Middle Tennessee cruised in the second half to beat Toledo 80-70 on Tuesday night.

The Blue Raiders (3-1) never trailed and pulled away with a 15-2 run late in the first half on their way to a 39-26 lead at the half. Middle Tennessee had its largest lead on Quavius Copeland's layup that made it 74-51 with 6:21 to play.

Reggie Upshaw added 16 points and Tyrik Dixon scored 11 for Middle Tennessee, which led by double digits for the final 26 minutes.

Steve Taylor Jr. led the Rockets (2-2) with 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting and 10 rebounds. Jonathan Williams added 12 points, all coming from 3-point range.

Toledo closed the game on a 12-2 run.

MTSU made 35 of 68 (51 percent) from the field and scored 22 points off 14 Toledo turnovers.
