Reynolds' career-high 24 leads Tulane over Southern 84-75
NEW ORLEANS -- Cameron Reynolds had a career-high 24 points and Tulane snapped a six-game losing streak with an 84-75 win over Southern on Wednesday night.
The Green Wave (2-7) pulled away with an 8-0 run to lead 50-41 on Melvin Frazier's layup with 15:13 to go. Tulane maintained its lead between 6 and 10 points the rest of the way.
Frazier added 15 points, Ray Ona Embo scored 13 and Blake Paul 12. Malik Morgan grabbed 11 boards to go with nine points.
Tulane scored the first 10 points of the game, but Southern (3-4) rallied to take the lead at 20-18 shortly after the midpoint of the first half. Neither team led by more than three for the rest of the half.
Jared Sam and Chris Thomas had 19 points each to lead Southern. Tre'lun Banks had 17 points, six rebounds and six assists.
