Rorie with 25 points as Montana beats UC Riverside 71-63

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Ahmaad Rorie scored a career-best 25 points as Montana beat UC Riverside 71-63 on Saturday night.

Rorie was 9 of 16 from the field and 6 of 6 from the free throw line for the Grizzlies (4-8). Walter Wright added 16 points and four assists and Sayeed Pridgett had 10 points and five rebounds.

Rorie and Wright combined for a pair of quick 3-pointers early in the second half that put the Grizzlies up 43-37 with 12:28 to play. UC Riverside closed the gap to 55-54 with 5:17 remaining but Wright sank another 3 and Rorie scored six points in the stretch to keep Montana on top.

Mario Dunn hit a 3-pointer late in the first period that gave Montana a 28-27 edge at the break.

Secean Johnson scored 16 points with eight rebounds for the Highlanders (1-6). Chance Murray added 15 points with six rebounds.
