Wright State beats Detroit 82-72 in Horizon quarterfinal
DETROIT -- JT Yoho scored 20 points, Michael Karena added 19 and Wright State rolled to a 82-72 victory over Detroit on Sunday in a Horizon League tournament quarterfinal.
The third-seeded Raiders (21-12) have won five straight, and play second-seeded Oakland in Monday's semifinal.
Mark Alstork had 17 points and Joe Thomasson chipped in 12 for Wright State.
Paris Bass scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead No. 6 seed Detroit (16-15). Carlton Brundidge added 18 points.
The Raiders took the lead for good three minutes into the game, and led 37-29 at the break. Yoho made a 3-pointer to stretch Wright State's lead to 54-37 with 14:44 to play. Detroit pulled within nine points twice in the second half but did not get closer.
The Titans outrebounded Wright State 39-27 but committed 17 turnovers and shot 0 of 11 from 3-point range.
