Kessee scores 21, leads Coppin State to 71-60 win over NCCU
BALTIMORE -- Christian Kessee nailed five 3-pointers to total 21 points as Coppin State jumped out to an early lead and coasted to a 71-60 win over North Carolina Central on Thursday night.
Josh Treadwell had 18 points and a career-high nine rebounds and Trevon Seymore added 16 points and dished out six assists for Coppin State (6-19, 4-8 Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference). Terry Harris added 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Eagles, who have won two of the last three after dropping four straight games.
Coppin State, which jumped out to a 29-18 halftime advantage, scored 28 points in the paint while limiting NCCU to 16.
Dante Holmes led NCCU (10-15, 5-6) with 24 points, making eight of 20 from the floor. Kyle Benton added 12 points while grabbing 10 rebounds and Patrick Cole chipped in 10 points.
