North Florida handles NJIT 94-80
NEWARK, N.J. -- Dallas Moore scored 29 points with eight assists and North Florida handled New Jersey Institute of Technology 94-80 on Sunday.
Moore was 9 of 17 from the field and grabbed six rebounds for the Ospreys (17-6, 6-0 Atlantic Sun). Beau Beech scored 20 points with seven boards and went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc, while Trent Mackey hit four 3-pointers for 12 points. Demarcus Daniels and Aaron Badger added 11 points apiece. UNF was 20 of 44 on 3-point attempts.
NJIT (11-10, 2-3) was led by Ky Howard and Mohamed Bendary with 16 points apiece. Terrence Smith and Tim Coleman both added 13 points. Coleman had eight boards and Damon Lynn had seven assists.
North Florida raced out to a 12-4 lead as NJIT made just two of its first seven shots. The Ospreys hit three consecutive 3-pointers midway through the half, led 50-36 at intermission and cruised in the second half.
