Green leads Hofstra to 91-63 win over William & Mary
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Juan'ya Green hit six 3-pointers and scored a season-high 30 points, Rokas Gustys had his sixth-straight double-double, and Hofstra pulled away in the second half for a 91-63 win over William & Mary on Sunday.
Gustys had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Pride (14-6, 6-2 Colonial), who outscored the Tribe 53-26 in the second half. Ameen Tanksley had 17 points and Denton Koon 13.
William & Mary (13-6, 5-3) trailed 38-37 but was up two on a layup by Terry Tarpey with 14:28 to play. Green then scored the first seven points in a 9-0 run that put the Pride up for good.
With a 10-point lead, Hofstra closed on a 23-5 tear. The Pride had five straight baskets and was 6 of 7 overall while the Tribe missed their last 10 shots.
David Cohn had 16 points, Tarpey 15 and Omar Prewitt 14 for William & Mary.
