Aldridge scores 34 in Davidson's 78-70 win over Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. -- Peyton Aldridge scored a career-high 34 points to help lead Davidson to a 78-70 win over Richmond on Monday night.
Aldridge made 11 of his 15 shots from the field, 11 of 13 at the free throw line, and pulled down seven rebounds. Jack Gibbs and Brian Sullivan each added 11 points for the Wildcats (12-6, 4-3 Atlantic 10).
Davidson trailed 54-49 with nine minute to go, but a Sullivan 3 and two Aldridge jumpers accounted for a 7-0 run which gave the Wildcats a 56-54 lead. After two ShawnDre' Jones free throws tied it for Richmond (10-8, 2-4), Sullivan buried another 3-pointer to spark an 8-0 scoring stretch which put Davidson in the lead for good.
Terry Allen had 23 points and eight rebounds to lead the Spiders. T.J. Cline finished with 18 points and Jones added 16.
