LAS VEGAS -- Geoffrey Groselle scored 20 points with nine rebounds and Creighton dispatched Massachusetts 97-76 in the championship game at the Main Event Tournament at the MGM Grand.
Groselle was 6 of 7 from the floor as Creighton (4-1) shot 51 percent, including 11 of 26 from beyond the arc. Maurice Watson Jr. scored 16 points with five assists. Cole Huff scored 12 points, James Milliken had 11 and Toby Hegner added 10.
Trey Davis led UMass (4-1) with 19 points while Jabarie Hinds and Donte Clark and Zach Coleman all had 12 points apiece. The Minutemen were just 3 of 16 on 3-point attempts.
Creighton used an 8-0 run -- including 3s from Huff and Watson, to open an early lead and cruised into intermission leading 37-29.
The Bluejays then opened the second half with an 11-5 run and UMass never challenged.
