Northeastern defeats Division III Wentworth 91-62
BOSTON -- Jimmy Marshall and Devon Begley scored 14 points apiece and Northeastern cruised to a 91-62 win over Wentworth on Tuesday night.
Playing their Division III neighbors, the Huskies (2-0) had five players in double figures, four of them non-starters, including Marshall and Begley. Brandon Kamga had 12 points, Anthony Green 11 and starter Quincy Ford 10.
Jason Ganley had 23 points for the Leopards, which plays in a gym that is three-tenths of a mile from Northeastern's Matthews Arena.
The Huskies had not played a non-Division I team since beating Lasell College 105-57 10 years ago.
Northeastern made 20 of 30 shots, plus 10 of 14 free throws, in the first half while holding Wentworth to 7-of-35 shooting (20 percent) for a 54-18 lead.
