Bowles scores 19, Pacific beats San Diego 77-75
STOCKTON, Calif. -- Ray Bowles scored 10 of his 19 points in the final 4:25 to help Pacific pull away from San Diego for a 77-75 win on Thursday night.
Bowles' dunk with 43 seconds left gave Pacific (3-9, 2-1 West Coast Conference) a 71-63 lead. San Diego had a pair of 3s in the final seconds to close the gap without threatening the outcome.
The Tigers trailed 56-51 before scoring nine straight to take the lead for good. Duda Sanadze's 3 for San Diego (5-7, 0-1) stopped the run briefly with 4:47 left. Bowles answered with a 3-point play that quickly swung the momentum back to the Tigers.
T.J. Wallace had 15 points, Ilias Theodorou scored 12 and Jacob Lampkin 10 for Pacific.
Vasa Pusica had 15 points, and Jito Kok and Cameron Neubauer scored 11 each for the Toreros.
