Tennessee-Martin rolls to 83-57 win over Harris-Stowe
MARTIN, Tenn. -- Myles Taylor had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead Tennessee-Martin to an 83-57 win over Harris-Stowe on Wednesday.
Alex Anderson added 13 points and Twymond Howard 11 for the Skyhawks (2-4), who took control early and dominated inside against the NAIA Hornets (4-3).
UT Martin closed the first half on a 17-5 run for a 43-29 lead. Harris-Stowe kept it close by making 7 of 12 3-pointers.
The Skyhawks then went on a 14-2 run early in the second half to lead 62-37 with just under 13 minutes to play. The Hornets only made 1 of 7 behind the arc after the break.
The Seahawks had a 36-25 rebounding advantage, including 16-3 on the offensive end which led to a 24-0 difference in second-chance points. UT Martin also turned 17 Hornet turnovers into 22 points.
Evan Jones had 17 and Trevor Roberts 14 for the Hornets.
