Jiggetts lifts Fairleigh Dickinson past St. Francis, 86-77
TEANECK, N.J. -- Stephan Jiggetts scored seven consecutive points to put Fairleigh Dickinson up by five, 79-74 with 2:29 left and the Knights held Saint Francis Brooklyn without a field goal in the final 4:55 to take an 86-77 win on Saturday in the Northeastern Conference opener for both schools.
Chris Hooper scored on a tip-in to pull the Terriers within one, and then tied the game with a free throw. Tyreek Jewell gave them the lead from the line, 74-72 with 3:56 left.
Jiggetts tied the game on a layup, gave Fairleigh Dickinson the lead with a jumper and tacked on a 3-pointer for good measure. He finished with a game-high 23 points after hitting 3 of 4 from beyond the arc.
Darian Anderson added 20 points and Earl Potts Jr. contributed 16 for Fairleigh Dickinson (5-7, 1-0).
Hooper finished with 19 points off the bench for St. Francis (4-10, 0-1).
