Wagner snaps 5-game skid against St. Francis Brooklyn 83-59
NEW YORK -- Corey Henson was 5 of 6 from behind the arc and scored 25 points and Wagner snapped a five-game losing streak to its New York City rival by posting an 83-59 win over defending Northeast Conference champion St. Francis Brooklyn Thursday night.
Chris Hooper hit a pair of free throws to give St. Francis the lead, 25-23 with 9:37 left in the first half, but Wagner responded with a 16-0 run, capped by Henson's 3-pointer, to seize control of the game. The Seahawks led by 10 at intermission, 43-33, and pulled away steadily through the second half.
Michael Carey added 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Wagner (12-6, 5-2) and Mike Aaman added 12 points and nine rebounds. The Seahawks shot 32 of 58 from the field (55.2 percent), including 5 of 8 from deep.
Hooper finished with 22 points off the bench for St. Francis (7-13, 3-4).
