Brown scores 12 points, leads W. Carolina over Wofford 53-48
CULLOWHEE, N.C. -- Mike Brown scored 12 points, including a key 3-pointer to help Western Carolina pull away and beat Wofford 53-48 on Thursday night for its third-straight win.
Rhett Harrelson added 12 points for the Catamounts (14-16, 9-8 Southern Conference), who have won six of their last seven games and are alone in fifth place in the conference standings.
Fletcher Magee made six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting to lead Wofford (15-15, 11-6), which remains tied with Furman for third in the conference.
Magee had a 3 to give the Terriers a 46-42 lead with eight minutes left. Brown made a layup and Devin Peterson added a jumper to tie it at 46-all.
Brown added a 3-pointer at the six-minute mark as the Catamounts closed on a 7-2 spurt to end it. The Terriers missed 8 of 9 shots and had three turnovers during the stretch.
