East Tennessee rolls over Milligan 98-47
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- Ge'Lawn Guyn hit 4 of 5 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead a balanced attack in a 98-47 win over Milligan College on Thursday.
Deuce Bello added 13 points, Petey McClain 12 and Isaac Banks and Abednego Lufile had double-doubles for the Buccaneers (4-4), for their largest margin of victory in 12 years. Lufile and Banks had 11 points and combined for 21 rebounds as Middle Tennessee dominated the boards 55-33, including 21-8 on the offensive end.
Kurt Brooks had 11 points for the NAIA Buffaloes (8-4). Milligan shot 30 percent, going 3 of 16 from 3-point range (19 percent) and had 21 turnovers. The Buffaloes also had 30 fouls and the Bucs went 28 for 37 from the line.
Middle Tennessee had a 12-0 run in the first half that made it 34-11 and turned that into a 22-5 surge to lead 44-16 after Bello's 3-point play at the 3:09 mark.
