Lundy sparks Rider to upset of Saint Peter's 76-45
JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Xavier Lundy came off the bench to score 18 points and Jimmie Taylor added 13 more as Rider upended Saint Peter's 76-45 on Thursday night, handing the Peacocks a second-straight loss in conference.
Lundy scored 12 quick points entering the game as sixth-man for Rider (8-13, 4-6 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), sparking the Broncs to a 34-10 lead with 4:41 left in the first half. Rider opened with a 16-2 lead and never trailed.
The Broncs shot a season-best 51 percent (27-53) with 13 assists and outrebounded Saint Peter's 37-22. Khalil Alford added 10 points.
Saint Peter's (8-10, 6-3) won six of its first seven MAAC games before losing by six to Iona last week, then had a game against Manhattan postponed by a leaking roof after Winter Storm Jonas. Trevis Wyche and Quadir Welton led the Peacocks with 15 points each.
