Marist Red Foxes @ Quinnipiac Bobcats
Quinnipiac cruises past Marist 79-53
HAMDEN, Conn. -- Andrew Robinson scored 15 points on five 3-pointers, and Daniel Harris added 13 to help Quinnipiac defeat Marist 79-53 Thursday night.
Harris and Robinson started an early run with four straight 3-pointers -- two each -- as Quinnipiac held Marist to a single point for more than three minutes on its way to building a 47-25 lead by halftime.
The Bobcats (8-3, 5-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) shot 50-percent in the first half, including nine 3-pointers while winning their third straight game.
Marist (4-17, 1-11) was led by 12 points from Brian Parker and 10 from Khallid Hart. The Red Foxes shot 27 percent (16-59).
The win inserts Quinnipiac into the tangled mix of the MAAC standings, where two games separated the fourth-place through ninth-place teams. The top five MAAC finishers earn first-round byes in the conference tournament.
