Siena Saints @ Canisius Golden Griffins
Bisping, Long lead Siena past Canisius 99-78
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Brett Bisping scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Lavon Long added a career-best 25 and had a shooting day unlike any other by a Division I player in more than 14 years, and Siena rolled past Canisius 99-78 on Sunday.
Long made every shot he took -- 7 of 7 from the floor and all 11 of his free throws -- plus had eight assists for Siena (13-7, 6-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Nico Clareth had 19 points and six assists for the Saints, who shot 66 percent to match the fourth-best showing by a road team in a Division I game this season.
Long became the first player to go at least 7 of 7 from the field and 11 of 11 from the line since Clyde McCully for Chattanooga on Dec. 29, 2001. McCully was 8 of 8 from the field and 11 of 11 from the line in that game.
Phil Valenti led Canisius (10-11, 5-5) with 17 points.
