Morehead State knock off Southern Mississippi 61-46

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Miguel Dicent and Corban Collins scored 12 points apiece and Morehead State knocked off Southern Mississippi 61-46 on Saturday.

Dicent added five rebounds and four assists. Collins had four assists and three steals.

Southern Miss (0-4) struggled throughout the first half to even get shots off -- the Golden Eagles made 4 of just 15 attempts and turned it over 11 times with 13 fouls before the break. They got down 17-3 and trailed 30-16 at intermission.

It didn't get much better after the break. Morehead State (4-1) scored the first seven points of the second half and another seven-point spurt -- including a 3-pointer by Lyonell Gaines -- pushed the lead over 20.

Robert Thomas III led Southern Miss with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting with three 3-pointers. His teammates combined to go 7 of 28 (25 percent).
