Houston Baptist rallies for 82-73 win over McNeese State
NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Anthony Odunsi scored 22 points to help Houston Baptist to an 82-73 victory over McNeese State Tuesday night, remaining unbeaten at home this season.
Josh Ibarra scored 17 points with 10 rebounds and Alex Fountain added 10 points for Houston Baptist (7-7, 2-0 Southland), which is 6-0 at home.
Ibarra sparked a 12-2 run early in the game when McNeese State went scoreless for five minutes. Terry Harris spurred an 8-0 run to a 32-25 Houston Baptist halftime lead.
McNeese State (2-10, 0-2) made a couple more runs late in the game, pulling to within 51-50 after Craig McFerrin scored the last four points of an 11-0 run.
The Cowboys tied at 59 and again at 61 on four Jamaya Burr free throws. Burr led McNeese State with 17 points.
Fountain hit a trey, and Odunsi dunked with 2:45 left to start Houston Baptist's 21-12 spurt to close the game.
