Jankovic scores 34 points; Hawaii beats CS Northridge 69-63
LOS ANGELES -- Stefan Jankovic scored a career-high 34 points and Hawaii held on to beat Cal State Northridge 69-63 on Thursday night.
Sai Tummala made a 3-pointer to give Hawaii a 65-63 lead with 51 seconds remaining, and Aaron Parks missed a layup for the Matadors with 44 seconds to play. Hawaii then ran down the shot clock before Sheriff Drammeh's layup attempt rimmed out, but Quincy Smith was there for the rebound and had a two-handed slam dunk with 13.3 seconds left to seal it for the Rainbow Warriors.
Jankovic had 23 points in the second half and finished 12 of 13 from the field. Roderick Bobbitt added nine points, Smith and Tummala had six apiece for Hawaii (21-3, 10-1 Big West Conference), which has won five straight.
Kendall Smith scored 13 points and Parks had 12 for Cal State Northridge (9-17, 4-8).
