Charlotte edges Texas-San Antonio 114-108 in 2OT
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Joseph Uchebo scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to set a school record for rebounds during the Conference USA season and Charlotte rallied to beat Texas-San Antonio 114-108 in the second overtime on Thursday night.
Jon Davis scored 21 points and his 3-pointer with a minute left in 2OT gave the 49ers (11-17, 7-8) a 109-103 lead.
Curran Scott had a steal with 35 seconds left, was fouled and made both free throws to put Charlotte up 112-105. Ryan Bowie's layup pulled USTA within 112-108, and then Scott iced it with a pair of free throws.
Scott scored 22 and Braxton Ogbueze had 17. Andrien White and Anthony Vanhook added 15 apiece for the 49ers, who trailed 46-45 at halftime. Vanhook's free throw tied it at 102 at the end of overtime.
Five players for UTSA (5-24, 3-13) scored in double figures, led by Bowie with 23. It was UTSA's first 2OT game since 2009.
