UNCW beats East Tennessee State 94-73
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- Chris Flemmings scored 18 points and UNC Wilmington defeated East Tennessee State 94-73 on Saturday.
C.J. Bryce added 14 points, Devontae Cacok 13, Jordon Talley 12 and Marcus Bryan 10 for the Seahawks with all five double-figure scorers shooting over 50 percent. UNCW was 41 of 70 for 58.6 percent.
T.J. Cromer scored 20 points and Ge'Lawn Guyn 18 for the Buccaneers (3-3).
East Tennessee State was 18 of 25 from the free-throw line to just 5 of 10 for UNCW but the Seahawks made 17 more field goals, helped out by a 39-24 rebounding edge including 11-4 on the offensive boards. The Buccaneers also committed 21 turnovers.
A 20-4 run in the first half led to an 18-point lead and a 16-0 run early in the second half had the Seahawks up 64-40. Their biggest lead was 27 points.
The Seahawks (4-0) are off to their best start since 2005-2006.
