Hogan, Anderson spark Navy to 75-53 win over IPFW
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Jace Hogan had 16 points and Shawn Anderson had 15 and Navy defeated IPFW 75-53 on Sunday to sweep its three games in the Spartan Showcase.
The Midshipmen (6-2) opened a 41-25 lead at the half and shot 54 percent for the game in winning their sixth straight -- their best since a seven-game streak early in the 2008-09 season. They made 31 of 57 shots, including half of their 10 3-pointers.
Hogan had six points in a 10-0 first-half run and the Midshipmen closed the half with a 16-2 surge. The Mastodons got within four in the second half but Navy answered with another 10-0 run.
The Mastodons (6-2), who had their six-game winning streak snapped, were led by Mo Evans with 19 points. IPFW shot 31 percent (14 for 45).
Navy has scored at least 70 points in five straight games and improved to 22-1 when reaching 70 points during the Ed DeChellis era.
