Kempton's double-double leads Lehigh past Lafayette 73-61
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Tim Kempton had 16 points and 15 rebounds to lead Lehigh over Lafayette 73-61 on Sunday for its seventh consecutive victory.
Kempton posted his ninth double-double this season and Kahron Ross his first with 11 points and 12 assists. Kyle Leufroy added 13 points for the Mountain Hawks (13-14, 11-5 Patriot).
Bryce Scott scored 13 points to lead the Leopards (5-22, 2-14), who fell to their 11th straight loss and were swept by their archivals for the first time since 2011-12. The losing streak matches an 11-game skid during the 2013-14 season.
Lehigh is alone in second place after Patriot League-leader Bucknell (12-4) defeated Boston University (10-6) to drop the Terriers into third.
Lafayette, which trailed by as many as 16, rallied to within six with two minutes left but Jesse Chuku had a dunk and the Mountain Hawks made 5 of 8 free throws to secure the win.
