JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Chris Davenport had 26 points and nine rebounds, Dallas Moore had 23 points and 10 assists, and North Florida won its home opener 106-84 over Texas-Rio Grande Valley on Monday night.
The Ospreys (2-0) tied a program record with 17 3-pointers, which they set in the season opener -- a 93-81 win over Illinois. They were 17 of 32 from 3-point range on Monday.
North Florida never trailed and had a 28-point lead late in the first half. The Ospreys held off Rio Grande Valley's hot-shooting rally to start the second half. The Vaqueros made their first seven field goals including three 3-pointers to get within 73-55 with 14:25 left but would get no closer.
Trent Mackey added 21 points on 6-of-7 3-point shooting and Beau Beech had 10 points for the Ospreys.
Dan Kimasa had 26 points on 11-of-14 shooting to lead the Vaqueros. Antonio Green added 12 points and Shaquille Hines 11.
