High Point beats Campbell 73-63
BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- John Brown scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds as High Point beat Campbell 73-63 on Wednesday night.
Brown finished with 8-of-15 shooting from the field for the Panthers (14-7, 7, 3 Big South). Adam Weary and Lorenzo Cugini added 16 points apiece and Anthony Lindauer chipped in 12.
Weary and Cugini sank back-to-back 3-pointers early in the first half to give the Panthers a 13-4 lead on their way to a 30-26 advantage at the break.
Campbell pulled to within a bucket, 36-34, early in the second half but High Point led all the way, taking it to 59-53 on Cugini's third 3-pointer with 6:15 to play. Later, Brown dunked to give the Panthers a 69-60 edge with a minute to play and they cruised from there.
Chris Clemons scored 17 points with six rebounds for the Camels (8-12, 2-8).
