TULSA, Okla. -- Rashad Smith scored 20 points with nine rebounds and Tulsa shut down East Carolina 55-43 on Tuesday night.
Smith was 10 of 13 from the floor for Tulsa (9-6, 1-2 American). Rashad Ray added 11 points with three 3-pointers.
East Carolina was led by Kentrell Barkley with 10 points off the bench. The Pirates (8-7, 0-2) were limited to 29.8 percent shooting from the floor and just 2 of 16 from beyond the arc.
