Maxwell leads Liberty to 86-50 win over Central Penn
LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Evan Maxwell had a career-high 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead Liberty to an 86-50 win over Central Penn on Saturday.
A.C. Reid also had a career-high 16 points and Lovell Cabbil added 11 for the Flames (3-1). Ezra Talbert had 10 rebounds and nine points.
Tyree Tucker had 17 points and 10 rebounds and John Starks, Jr., 16 points for the Knights (7-2).
Liberty had a 49-32 rebounding advantage and 22 assists on 30 baskets while getting 35 points from reserves.
The Flames used a 13-2 run to take a 23-12 lead just past the midpoint of the first half and added a 12-2 run to take a 40-21 lead at the half.
Liberty shot 49 percent and held the Knights, who were averaging 100 points in eight games, to 28 percent.
