TOWSON, Md. -- John Davis scored 14 points with eight rebounds, William Adala Moto grabbed 13 rebounds and Towson beat Elon 67-56 on Saturday.

Byron Hawkins added 12 points and Timajh Parker-Rivera added 11 for Towson (19-10, 10-6 Colonial Athletic Association). Towson controlled the boards with a 49-37 rebounding edge.

A jumper by Hawkins put the Tigers up 39-29 with 17:46 to play in the game. Elon (15-14, 6-10) responded with a 12-7 run, reducing their deficit to 46-41 with 11:59 to go. But Parker-Rivera made a layup and Mike Morsell's 3 stretched the league back to 10.

Another Parker-Rivera layup made it 56-43 with 5:22 to play.

Dmitri Thompson led the Phoenix with 13 points and Steven Santa Ana had 10.

Towson shot 37.3 percent from the field (22 for 59) to 31 percent for Elon (18 for 58).
