Hofstra beats Drexel 69-61
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Juan'ya Green scored 25 points and Hofstra beat Drexel 69-61 Thursday night.
Green was 8 of 13 from the field with six rebounds and five assists for the Pride (12-5, 4-1 Colonial). Rokas Gustys scored 15 points with 10 rebounds, Brian Bernardi had 12 points and Ameen Tanksley added 10 with nine boards. Denton Koon pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds.
Kazembe Abif scored 16 points with 10 rebounds for Drexel (3-13, 1-4). Sammy Mojica had 13 points and Tavon Allen added 10.
Hofstra closed the first half on a 12-4 run and led 34-24 at the break.
Drexel clawed back, and Mojica's tip-in with 5:25 left gave the Dragons a two-point lead. Hofstra responded with a 10-point spurt and held on down the stretch.
Hofstra has won six of seven, while Drexel has lost five of six.
