Hofstra beats D-II Molloy 96-64
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Ameen Tanksley and Juan'ya Green each scored 17, and Hofstra beat Division II Molloy 96-64 on Monday night.
Green's 3-pointer in the final minute of the first half sent Hofstra (2-0) into the intermission with a 37-29 lead. The Pride opened the second half with a 35-11 stretch and led by no less than 20 from there.
Hofstra finished with 59 second-half points with the help of 64 percent shooting from the field.
Green also had eight assists and Tanksley grabbed eight rebounds. Malik Nichols added 16 points and eight boards, Rokas Gustys pulled in 16 rebounds to go with 12 points and Denton Koon scored 11.
Jaylen Morris led the Lions with 15 points. Kevin Bowles and Charlie Marquardt each chipped in 11, and Chucks Obunse scored 10.
Molloy never led after the opening minutes but stayed close throughout the first half.
