Long Beach State beats UC Santa Barbara in overtime 80-70
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Nick Faust scored a career-high 34 points with eight rebounds and Long Beach State beat UC Santa Barbara 80-70 in overtime on Thursday night.
UCSB did not score in the extra session, missing all five field goal attempts and turning it over six times. Justin Bibbins had six of his 17 points in overtime, all at the line. A.J. Spencer added 11 points and Gabe Levin had 10 for the 49ers (10-12, 4-3 Big West).
The Gauchos' Michael Bryson was fouled by Faust shooting a 3-pointer as time expired in regulation and made three consecutive free throws with 0.6 seconds left to force overtime.
Bryson paced UC Santa Barbara (8-11, 2-4) with 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds. John Green scored 16 points, Eric Childress added 13 and Sam Beeler had nine boards.
