Long Beach State pulls away from Cal State Fullerton 70-57
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Nick Faust scored 14 points and had five rebounds to lead Long Beach State past Cal State Fullerton for a 70-57 win Saturday night.
Justin Bibbins added 12 points and Travis Hammonds had 11, including a trio of 3-pointers, for Long Beach (15-12, 9-3 Big West), which forced 16 turnovers to win its sixth straight.
Trailing by a point at the break, Long Beach took control in the second half with a 13-1 run sparked by Faust's bucket to make it 52-41 with 10:20 left. Faust and Bibbins each sank a 3-pointer during the run and the 49ers led by double figures the rest of the way.
In the first half, Fullerton (9-17, 2-11) jumped out to an 11-6 lead when Malcom Henderson went 1 for 2 from the line and hung on until the second half.
Malcolm Brooks led the Titans with 14 points and Khalil Ahmad had 13.
