Telfair's big game helps Idaho State top Southern Utah 89-71

CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Ethan Telfair scored 31 points with six rebounds and six assists to help Idaho State cruise over Southern Utah 89-71 on Saturday.

Telfair was 9 of 21 from the field and made all 10 of his free throw attempts. Gary Chivichyan had 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting with four 3-pointers, Geno Luzcando scored 15 points and Ben Wilson grabbed 12 rebounds for Idaho State (14-12, 9-5 Big Sky), which has won four of five. The Bengals shot over 56 percent, including 8 of 13 from beyond the arc.

Southern Utah (4-21, 2-13) was led by James McGee with 18 points. Casey Oliverson added 10 points.

After a close start, Idaho State used a 10-2 spurt late in the first half to lead 42-29 at the break. The Bengals then opened the second half with a 15-6 run to lead 57-35 and coasted past the Thunderbirds.
