Loyola Marymount beats San Francisco in overtime 100-87
LOS ANGELES -- Steven Haney scored 25 points and Loyola Marymount beat San Francisco 100-87 in overtime on Saturday.
LMU dominated overtime, 18-5. It was the Lions' first 100-point game since Dec. 21, 2013 against NAIA-member La Sierra.
Marin Mornar scored 19 points, Brandon Brown had 17 points with 10 assists and Shamar Johnson added 10 points for Loyola Marymount (12-16, 5-12), which shot over 46 percent.
San Francisco trailed 45-31 at half and by as many as 18 in the second. But a 21-4 run midway through the second drew the Dons even at 55 and it stayed close from there. On the last possession in regulation, LMU's Munis Tutu blocked Devin Watson's floater in the lane, but Dont'e Reynolds grabbed the inside rebound and banked it home to force overtime.
Tim Derksen led San Francisco (15-12, 8-8) with 27 points -- tying a career high- and 11 rebounds. Devin Watson scored 22 points and Sean Grennan added 15.
