Chattanooga routs VMI 85-59 for 24th win
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Dee Oldham scored a career-high 14 points to lead a deep and balanced conference-leading Chattanooga team to an 85-59 rout of VMI Thursday night, winning its 24th game.
After Oldham, who made four of five field goals and three 3-pointers, Chuck Ester tied his career high with 13 points, Tre' McLean added 12 with a career-best 13 rebounds and Justin Tuoyo added 11 points. Twelve players scored for the Mocs.
Chattanooga (24-4, 13-2 Southern Conference) won its 20th-straight home game and shot 56 percent -- 71 percent in the first half when the Mocs poured in a season-high 52 points.
The Mocs' 24 wins are a school record for the regular season and most in the nation this season.
QJ Peterson scored 24 for VMI (7-18, 2-12), with Phillip Anglade adding 13.
Chattanooga won its 400th conference game since joining the SoCon in the 1977-78 season.
