Davis, Clark lead UMass to 103-95 OT win over New Orleans
AMHERST, Mass. -- Trey Davis scored 40 and Donte Clark added 30 points -- both career highs -- Wednesday night to help UMass beat New Orleans 103-95 in overtime and end its three-game skid.
Davis made 18 of 20 free throws while Clark made 9 of 14 field goals, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range, and grabbed eight rebounds for UMass (6-4). The Minutemen scored their most points since a 105-96 win over BYU on Dec. 7, 2013.
Clark scored seven points and Davis made 4 of 4 free throws during a 13-4 run that put the Minutemen up 99-90 with 36 seconds left in overtime.
The Minutemen hit 17 of 19 from the stripe in overtime and finished with season highs for both free throws made (35) and attempted (46). Two New Orleans starters -- Erik Thomas and Tevin Broyles -- fouled out and the Privateers were called for 35 fouls.
Thomas led New Orleans (3-6) with 16 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
