New Orleans rolls over Pensacola Christian College 94-57
NEW ORLEANS -- Erik Thomas and Cameron Reed combined for 34 points as New Orleans dominated Pensacola Christian College 94-57 on Thursday night.
The Privateers (1-2) picked up their first win after losing to Bowling Green 79-61 and Duquesne 95-75 to open the season.
Thomas had 17 points and nine rebounds and Reed nailed 5 of 7 from beyond the arc for 17 points. Nate Frye made 5 of 9 from the field for 16, and Kevin Hill chipped in 14 and grabbed 11 rebounds.
New Orleans never trailed and led 40-26 at the break. Corey Williams drove for a layup and Joel Thomas made two free throws to open the second half as Pensacola Christian closed to 40-30. The Privateers answered with a 10-0 run and sprinted to the win.
Thomas made 10 of 12 free throws for 19 points and Williams added 11 for Pensacola Christian.
