Gillon leads Colorado St. to 85-84 OT win over San Jose St.
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- John Gillon sank a layup with 14 seconds to play in overtime to give Colorado State an 85-84 victory over San Jose State on Saturday.
With the Rams (10-6, 2-1 Mountain West Conference) trailing by two points, Gillon hit the final bucket of the game with 14 seconds left in the overtime period, giving Colorado State the win.
Gillon also led the Rams with 18 points. Tiel Daniels added 16 points, Emmanuel Omogbo had 13 and Joe De Ciman 11.
Jaycee Hillsman sank a 3-pointer early in the second half that gave San Jose State a 49-41 lead with 16:41 left in regulation. Colorado State kept it close but trailed through most of the period until Jeremiah Paige hit a layup with a second to play to tie it up, 78-78, and send the game into overtime.
Princeton Onwas led the Spartans (5-11, 0-4) with 24 points.
