Eastern Michigan storms back to beat Miami (Ohio) 62-61, OT
YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Raven Lee scored 19 points, including a 3-pointer to force overtime, and No. 8 seed Eastern Michigan came back to beat No. 9 seed Miami (Ohio) 62-61 on Monday night in the first round of the Mid-American Conference tournament.
Lee fouled out in the first minute of overtime.
Miami led 52-40 with 9:03 remaining in regulation, but didn't make its next field goal until the 52-second mark of overtime.
Eastern Michigan (20-12) will play fifth-seeded Bowling Green in the second round on Wednesday.
Willie Moore led Miami (13-19) with 17 points.
Moore made three free throws with 1:57 left in overtime to give Miami a 59-58 lead. Anali Okoloji answered with a hook shot with the shot clock winding down and then Logan McLane put Miami up again, 61-60.
Brandon Nazione made a basket with 36 seconds left, after two Eastern Michigan offensive rebounds, for a 62-61 lead but didn't convert his three-point play opportunity. Miami missed four shots in the final seconds.
