Army beats VMI 92-86 in All-Military Classic
WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Kyle Wilson scored 19 points, Tanner Plomb had 18 and Army beat Virginia Military Institute 92-86 to win the All-Military Classic on Saturday.
Craig Hinton's basket put VMI in front 83-77 with 4:16 left. Then Army responded with a 9-0 run for an 86-83 lead with 1:45 left. VMI stopped the run with a three-point play, but Army ended the game on a 7-0 run.
Tanner Omlid had 12 points for Army (2-0), Kevin Ferguson added 11, and Dylan Cox 10. The Knights made 36 of 65 field goals and were 15 of 29 from the free-throw line.
QJ Peterson led VMI (1-1) with 19 points, Julian Eleby had 18 and Phillip Anglade added 13. The Keydets made just 44 percent of their 75 field goal attempts, including 9 of 24 from 3-point range.
Wilson also had 25 points on Friday in Army's 84-78 win over Air Force and was named the tournament MVP.
