Jimmie Taylor leads Rider past Niagara, 69-60
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Jimmie Taylor scored 15 points and Rider knocked off Niagara, 69-60 on Sunday to remain in second place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
The Broncs (18-9, 12-4) are two games back of Iona going into Sunday's games.
Rider needed a Kahlil Thomas layup and a Zedric Sadler jumper in the final 1:08 of the first half to forge a 33-33 tie going into intermission.
The second of Taylor's back-to-back 3-pointers gave Rider the lead, 42-40 with 15:51 left and his layup with 10:10 left capped a 14-2 Rider run that put the Broncs firmly in charge.
Teddy Okereafor finished with 13 points and five assists for Rider and Matt Lopez added 11 points. Rider shot an even 50 percent from the field (25 of 50), including 10 of 18 from beyond the arc.
Emile Blackman scored 13 points and Ramone Snowden grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Niagara (4-21, 3-13).
