GRAMBLING, La. -- Madarious Gibbs and Malcolm Riley had 16 points apiece to lead five players in double figures as Texas Southern dominated Grambling State 81-58 in Southwestern Athletic Conference action on Saturday night.
Gibbs made 5 of 10 field goal attempts and 5 of 6 free throws and Riley was 6 of 9 from the floor and grabbed 10 rebounds for Texas Southern (12-12, 9-2). Tonnie Collier made 3 of 7 from beyond the arc for 13 points and David Blanks and Jason Carter had 12 points each.
Texas Southern, which has won 8 of its last 10 games, jumped to an early lead and was ahead 41-21 at the break. The Tigers remain in second place in the conference standings behind Alabama State.
Mark Gray had 20 points, A'Torri Shine added 11 and Richard Freeman chipped in 10 for Grambling State (2-20, 0-12), which has now lost 15 straight.
