Lynn, Willis lead NJIT past Howard 71-62
NEWARK, N.J. -- Damon Lynn had 16 points and Winfield Willis had 15 points with the pair combining for six 3-pointers to lead NJIT to a 71-62 win over Howard on Wednesday night.
Tim Coleman and Daquan Holiday finished with 11 apiece, and the Highlanders (18-11) assisted on 18 of their 25 made field goals on the night.
Tyler Stone had 17 points and nine rebounds, Brandon Ford had 14 points and Keon Hill added 12 and six assists for the Bison (16-15). Stone scored 15 of his 17 in the second half.
Up 15 at the half, NJIT pushed the lead to as many as 17 in the second half. Howard scored the last five points of the game to pull within single digits for the first time since the 14:17 mark in the first half.
