Savannah State comes back to beat Hampton 68-66
SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Terel Hall hit two free throws with 10 seconds left to give Savannah State its first lead of the night and the Tigers held on for a 68-66 comeback win over Hampton on Saturday.
Hampton turned it over on the next possession, then Alante Fenner went 1 of 2 from the line with four seconds left for a two-point Savannah State lead and Reginald Johnson missed a 3-pointer as time expired.
Hall was 2 of 3 from the field and 14 of 17 from the free throw line for 18 points.
Brian Pearson scored 13 points, Fenner had 12 and Javaris Jenkins added 10 for Savannah State (5-14, 1-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).
Quinton Chievous led Hampton (8-11, 4-3) with 18 points. Brian Darden added 14.
Darden hit two free throws with 4:31 left to give Hampton a 62-52 lead, but Savannah State went on a 10-4 run to pull within 66-62.
