Hofstra scores 21 of final 23 points from line in 87-82 win
TOWSON, Md. -- Hofstra scored 21 of its final 23 points from the free-throw line and beat Towson 87-82 on Wednesday night.
Ameen Tanksley was 14 of 15 from the line in scoring 21 points and Juan'ya Green also scored 21, making 10 of 11 from the line. The Pride made 37 of 42 free throws for 88.1 percent. Dion Nesmith added 16 points and Moussa Kone 11. Hofstra (18-10, 9-6 Colonial Athletic) also made 10 of 23 from beyond the arc.
Four McGlynn tied a career-high with 27 points to lead the Tigers (12-16, 5-10). John Davis added 17 and Eddie Keith II 13. The Tigers, who committed 31 fouls and had three players foul out, made 21 of 25 shots from the line for a season-high 84 percent.
The victory was the first for Hofstra over Towson in six meetings.
Towson led 68-64 with 7:35 left when Hofstra went on its free-throw spree.
